Make users smile
Every step in their journey is an opportunity to build an emotional connection.
Here you can see the entire final app onboarding UX flow, accounting for all the steps and potential errors along the way.
Why no wireframes?
With a detailed multi product design system created in Figma, and the time it takes to make wireframes, it was better to hit the ground running as quickly as possible.
Sometimes designing in high fidelity saves production time, and helps everyone get a better view of the proposed design direction.
Outcomes and Takeaways
At the end of the allowed design time, my team achieved most of our goals:
- Profile creation was now more fun and engaging for users.
- The activity timeline became the new home screen.
- All menus and settings were organized and simplified.
- The V2 app had a bold, modern new visual design style.
Ultimately the time spent making a great new user experience had to be cut short. My team and I were requested to pause working on the V2 app, and shift focus to helping other product teams which had higher priority. Later the project was placed on hold.
I learned alot about dog breeds and our users' needs during my time on this project. It was also more valuable experience in leading and assisting multiple talented designers.
